Fallen Tear: The Ascension patch 1.0.1

Quick answer

1.0.1 rebalanced the blood moon (1.5x enemies, proper 3x shards, every 45 min), fixed eight launch bugs, and smoothed several areas.

Patch 1.0.1 is the studio's first response to launch-week feedback: eight fixes, one real rebalance (the blood moon), and several areas made less annoying to traverse. Here is what actually changed in your build, and what is still missing.

The blood moon, before and after

Blood moonAfter 1.0.1Before 1.0.1
Enemy strength1.5x2x
Korr Shards from affected enemiesProper 3x dropOften less than expected
Event frequencyEvery 45 minutesEvery 30 minutes

If a blood moon fight at launch felt overtuned, part of that was the 2x modifier the studio has now cut to 1.5x. With events on a 45-minute timer instead of 30, less of a session runs dark.

The eight fixes

  1. Lilac Mire — enemies could leave their combat area mid-fight; the fix applies to combat areas in general.
  2. Ageuan: Water Kingdom — entering water pipes used to change your traversal speed inconsistently.
  3. Ageuan: Water Kingdom — one hidden area was nearly impossible to spot; it now has visual clues.
  4. Blood-moon mobs — they could destroy interactables and breakables, including objects only meant to break from specific actions.
  5. A hidden "????" fight — the boss could teleport behind its own boss gates.
  6. Blood-moon drops — affected enemies now properly drop 3x their normal Korr Shards.
  7. Euan — he could stay stuck for a few seconds after Efimer's Fated Bond Skill trap.
  8. Bislow: Earth Kingdom — a guard could block progression even after Haslan: The Earth God was defeated.

Traversal and spikes

Three kinds of quality-of-life work landed alongside the fixes:

  • Zapana: The Wind Kingdom — improved traversal across several platforming sections.
  • Nargun's Cradle — the one-hit spike sections that send you back to a safe point were adjusted.
  • A few unnamed areas — difficulty spikes the studio called "more frustration than intended".

Audio and guidance

The Injured Elder in Paupao Falls now has VO lines that call out when you are near him — useful, because finding him is the point. Enid also gets VO lines when you enter her maze puzzle areas.

What is not in 1.0.1

The studio's "we heard you" list, still upcoming as of this check:

  • Map indicators for certain quests.
  • Better claiming and usage of Fated Goals.
  • Early-game navigation guidance.
  • A balancing pass on some enemies and combat features.
  • Controller vibration feedback.

They also confirm free post-launch DLC with new areas and bosses is in development. No dates are attached to any of it.
